History

One of the earliest known owners of 217 St. Mary were Frank and May Nevis. Frank was a civil servant and served as a town marshal. May owned her own millinery store in 1910.

The house is one of the city's 92 Historic Resources, listed in the official Pleasanton Limited Scope Historic Survey, prepared for the City of Pleasanton by San Francisco's Architectural Resources Group in August 2015. Along with the bronze plaque, the designation came with a framed rendering of the home and a miniature replica of it by artist Gary Winter.
